Safety Guidance
Notting Hill Carnival is one of the largest street festivals in the world and takes place in a busy public environment. The safety and wellbeing of all masqueraders is important to us. By participating with Masq by Naitram you agree to follow basic safety guidance and the instructions of band organisers, stewards and security teams.
Stay with the band
Remain within the Masq by Naitram band area during the parade so that our stewards and security team can assist you if needed.
Follow steward and security instructions
Our team will guide the movement of the band throughout the route. Please follow their instructions to ensure a safe and organised experience.
Stay hydrated
Take breaks if needed
Carnival can be physically demanding. Drink water regularly and take breaks if you need to rest.
Be Comfortable & Take Care of Your Belongings
Wear comfortable footwear
You will be walking and dancing for several hours, so suitable footwear is strongly recommended.
Take care of personal belongings
Avoid bringing unnecessary valuables and keep personal items secure. We recommend having a very small amount of cash for emergencies only.
Respect other participants and the public
Carnival is a celebration shared with millions of people. Please act respectfully towards other masqueraders, band staff and members of the public.
Look after your wellbeing
If you feel unwell or require assistance during the event, please contact a member of the Masq by Naitram team or security staff.
Arrange a meeting point with friends
Carnival crowds can be very large. If you are attending with friends or a group, it is recommended to agree on a meeting point in case you become separated.
